Sharon Frost for Maine

Independent

Proudly representing House District 58: Belgrade, Fayette, Mount Vernon, New Sharon, Rome & Vienna

Meet Sharon

A former educator, Sharon has devoted herself to volunteering in schools. She is dedicated to investing in public education to retain graduates who will go on to strengthen Maine’s economy.

Sharon is also passionate about protecting Maine’s environment and natural resources. Having worked as an agro-forestry volunteer in the Peace Corps she now supports local lakes associations and conservation groups.

She is also concerned about the mental health struggles affecting many Mainers today, and fully supports social workers, counselors and mental health advocates.

Sharon loves to travel and enjoys exploring new cultures. She also loves to garden, read and hike with her dogs in Maine’s beautiful mountains. She cherishes any opportunity to gather with her husband, three daughters and friends for a meal with lots of laughter!

  • "Sharon Frost is not only a trusted friend but also a key member of our community. Her energetic dedication to helping people, and passionate commitment to the environment of the Lakes Region will make her an ideal advocate in the legislature."

    - Sarah Hammond Krizo, long-time Belgrade resident

  • “I have known Sharon Frost for over 20 years. She has been an active parent volunteer to our music program. Her willingness to help wherever needed is a hallmark of her generous spirit, and her clear understanding of matters-at-hand makes her an invaluable, articulate member of the community."

    - Ellen Gawler, Co-Founder Pineland Suzuki School & Director of Pineland Fiddlers

  • “Sharon consistently demonstrates a remarkable ability to listen attentively to all perspectives on issues facing our schools. What truly sets her apart is how she carefully considers every viewpoint while always keeping our students' best interests at the heart of her decision-making process."

Priorities for Maine

Affordability

The cost of living has gotten out of control and Maine families are feeling the pinch every time they go to the store. As a representative I’ve focused on the boring nitty gritty that gets real costs down for families like school funding formulas. I’ll continue to balance all perspectives as I work to bring down costs for our communities.

Conservation

As a state, we have to work to keep our lakes, ponds, streams, rivers, and oceans clean. One of our state's largest industries is tourism; an industry built on tourists' desire to see our state's natural beauty. As such, we must do everything in our power to protect our natural resources and by doing so safeguard our state's economy.

Education

I’m a dedicated parent and teacher. I served on the school board so I could advocate for our students, where I was the chair of the Educational Programming Committee to lend my expertise where needed and keep abreast of curriculum.
